Team expetaction and values.
I had to prepare a document for onboarding new teammates and thought it
would be a good idea to write down what I expect from my team. I can probably
do better, but for now, I think this is good enough.
- “I don’t know, but I will figure it out” attitude: We don’t have all the
answers and we certainly don’t expect anyone else to either. But what we do
expect is a shared commitment to curiosity, a willingness to explore, and the
determination to find solutions.
- How you do anything is how you do everythingi: Whether it’s tackling a complex
project or handling routine assignments, the same level of dedication,
attention to detail, and passion is expected.
- Who Needs Managers When You’ve Got Awesomeness: We’re not fans of traditional
management. Our goal is to have a team where everyone is self-sufficient and
doesn’t need constant supervision. We trust each team member to take ownership
of their work, be proactive, and contribute independently. This also means
you’re not just handed tasks; you’re encouraged to identify and tackle
significant problems that matter to you.
- Smartassery Encouraged: You should aim to be the go-to expert in some area of
knowledge. If there’s a problem we can’t bring to you, you might need a bit
more to thrive in our team.
- Relentless Pursuit of Excellence: We champion a mindset of constant
self-improvement, pushing you to reach new heights both personally and
professionally. We expect you to strive to be better every single day.
- Golden Rule: Thou Shalt Love Pizza, Especially the Divine Creation Known as
Cheese Pizza. It’s Not Just a Food, It’s a Way of Life!
